Twitter_Pictures_from_Hootsuite

If you post to Twitter via Hootsuite, you have probably been disappointed in that images included in those posts appear as links rather than fully-formed images. There has been a workaround. In Hootsuite, you could go to your profile icon, click the Twitter profile, and in the settings change the dropdown for “Image Uploads” from “owly.com” to “pic.twitter.com.”

This morning, I received an email from Hootsuite that seems to change that requirement. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

You asked and we listened: the ability to post images directly throughpic.twitter.com to your followers’ feeds is now turned on in your dashboard!

Here’s why this is great:

  • Your followers will now see your images (instead of ow.ly links) directly in their feeds
  • Images in Tweets have been shown to increase engagement rates by 3 – 4 times* more than posts without images (that’s A LOT of engagement).
  • You can do it right now! No settings to change–it’s there, just waiting for you to use it.

Here’s what it looks like in your Twitter feed:

If you prefer, you can still post images through ow.ly links. Simply follow the steps below to switch back.

  1. Click here to visit your dashboard
  2. Click your profile icon in the top left corner
  3. Click on your Twitter profile
  4. Click the Settings icon
  5. Under Image Uploads, select Ow.ly

Any questions? We’re here to help. Simply reply and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
