We generally do things poorly before we do them well. When you were new to Twitter, perhaps little thought was put into the name. You picked something too long, too hard for others to remember, or even something a little embarrassing. The good news is that you can change your Twitter “handle,” and it’s easy to do.
- Log into your Twitter account.
- Click the cog in the upper-right corner, and choose “settings.”
- You will see a field labeled “Username.” Highlight the name that is there and enter the one you wold like to have.
- Scroll down and click “Save changes.”
But what if the name you would like to have is not available? And what if your second choice is taken? A site called NameChk removes the mystery. Enter the name you want, and the site returns for each of 157 services whether or not your name is available.
What’s the best username? Your name is your brand. Get it, or the closest thing to it that you can.
